How to configure Android phones for browsing on MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile(etisalat)

To configure any phone or device for internet connection simple means to set up the APN, apn settings varies from one network to another, every network has their own apn settings, so today I will guide you guys on how to set up apn( configure your phone) for internet browsing on MTN, Etisalat, Airtel and Glo lines

What is APN

APN is the acronym for Access Point Name, its the basic required settings for Internet access on any device or phone, be it android, windows, Java, IOS, even MiFi routers, and modem.
Setting up APNs comes in handy mostly when one changed network provider or purchased a new phone, most time APN is set Automatically by the network provider, but in some devices, automatic setup doesn’t go well, therefore the need for this tutorial comes up that’s manually setting them up

Enough said already, let’s go straight to the point
How To Set up APN on Android phones( Configuration)

• Go to phone settings
• 
• Navigate to mobile networks
• Click on Access Point Name.
• 
• The list of available APN settings on your sim will drop down if any
• Click on option(the three dots on the top right-hand side) and select Add new APN/ New APN depending on the device, in some device you will only see the + Sign, click on it
• 

Follow the instructions below to set up APN on the different networks in Nigeria.

For MTN

• On name input MTN
• On APN input web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
• On APN type select default and supl
• On username input web
• On password input web
• Leave other fields empty and click on the back key, the settings will save automatically..

For Etisalat(9mobile)

• On name input 9mobile
• On APN input 9mobile
• On APN type select default and supl
• Leave username box empty
• Leave password box empty
• Leave other fields empty and click on the back key, the settings will save automatically..

For Airtel

• On name input Airtel
• On APN input Internet.ng.zain.com
• On APN type select default and supl
• On username input Internet
• On password input Internet
• Leave other fields empty and click on the back key, the settings will save automatically..

For Glo

• On name input GLO
• On APN input Gloflat
• On APN type select default and supl
• On username input gloflat
• On password input gloflat
• Leave other fields empty and click on the back key, the settings will save automatically..

Reboot your phone after applying those settings, on your data connection, a connected sign will show up immediately, you can now use your device to surf the Internet.

so next time your internet connection is not coming up do check your APN settings, you might save your self some bulks by simply doing so.
